Langcliffe Park in the Yorkshire Dales

Our Story

John and Heather Smith were from a farming background and Heather had experience from a small holiday park over in Lancashire. Looking for a new challenge and with Heather as the driving force, they sold up in 2004 and purchased Langcliffe Park to establish “a place we would like to visit ourselves, in a beautiful area” ... all these years later this simple objective still applies.

In early 2015 the building at the centre of the park was also purchased which provides rental accommodation and the Tarn Brow self-catering apartment. The original park has grown from 7 acres, to 17 acres, but with clever design and incredible staff, it still retains its small, home-from-home appeal. Each year, there has been investment and the park has evolved into the quiet, well-maintained and well-loved park it is today. We have many loyal owners, a few of whom were on the park when it was purchased.

John and Heather’s daughter Charlotte has also been integral to the success of the park over the years, and is fully involved in planning, investment and financial management decisions. This means the future of this family holiday park is in good hands for the long term.

The story doesn’t end there of course, and further investment will continue to flow into Langcliffe Park to ensure it not only does the stunning Yorkshire Dales justice, but is a place where people would like to visit again and again.

John is regularly on site and Holiday Home owners and prospective Holiday Home owners are encouraged to seek him out for a no-nonsense chat or to arrange a zero-pressure viewing of our new homes or recently redeveloped plots.
